#3: What do your customers need to learn from you?

Interactive learning communications are not created inside of a day, and indeed take a fair amount of effort from everyone involved. There is a strategy for you as the business owner, as the marketing guru, and as an industry thought leader to receive a large return on investment. Follow me to the end.

Your interactive learning communication can include a mixture of any of the following:

  • Graphics
  • Videos
  • Text
  • Voice-overs
  • Animations
  • And… Clickable areas!

Why should you take the time to deliver interactive learning communications to your customers, community, and employees?

Increased retention! They will remember more. Period. More knowledge means less questions you and your team need to manage.

Increased trust! The more customers see your brand the more they appreciate you, your business, and product or service. They trust in you. They trust in your brand.

In return, they LOVE you! Increased trust, love, and dedication. Winner winner.

1) Customers need to learn how to use your product from the ground up.

Customers do not want to try to figure out your service or product. Give it to them in a logical step-by-step manner resulting in near instant gratification.

2) Customers need a resource to troubleshoot a product.

How many thousands, or more, of dollars have you spent on Amazon and have not had to contact their customer support? Document, document, document. Take those notes and put them into a format a customer can quickly browse. Let them see your documentation versus someone else’s that comes up in a Google search.

3) Customers want to know all about you, the business journey, the business vision, and general industry knowledge.

Bring them up to speed from Day 1 to now. Equip your customers with interesting talking points, and they WILL talk about you more!

Remember, the less text you have (like the About Us page that is filled with paragraphs of text that is unrepeatable) and the more of everything else, the more your audience will remember and be able to accurately relay information about your brand when the opportunity presents itself.

What do you use when you create a marketing piece? Graphics, colors, and as little text as possible. Same thing here. All of your interactive learning communications can also be marketing pieces. The content inside of these large chunks can be shared over and over on a smaller scale, all of which the end result is to bring the customer back to your large chunk and they will learn everything you need them to know to understand you, the business, your product or service, how to get the most out of their investment, etc.

How many times does a potential customer need to see your brand before finally visiting your website or reaching out in person? This is a great tool for doing just that.

Check out our example of an interactive learning communication we have created for our customers.

If you were to add a page to your website today, what information would it contain? How much more effective could that information be relayed if put inside of a fun, interactive, highly-retentive learning communication instead of a bunch of text?

There is strength in repurposing content.
There is power in multiple exposures.
There is excitement, for the customer, in becoming a loyal follower.
There is pride, for the customer, in understanding your business inside and out.

When you are ready, let’s start your first interactive learning communication targeting your customer and place it on your website! Let’s see how many different small chunks we can break it up into for marketing pieces. Let’s share those small chunked marketing pieces over the course of 3 months on your social media channels and blog. Let’s win those customers!
